Survey & Seabed Intelligence

Integrated seabed, geotechnical, environmental and ROV survey solutions that reduce offshore uncertainty and support safer, more efficient offshore campaign delivery.

Ross Offshore delivers integrated survey and seabed intelligence, supporting offshore developments across oil and gas, renewable energy, carbon capture and storage (CCS), decommissioning, and marine infrastructure from planning, engineering through to offshore execution.

Uncertainty in seabed conditions, environmental constraints, geological hazards and infrastructure interfaces can drive design changes, delays and cost increases, making early site understanding essential for successful offshore project delivery.

Combining field-proven marine operations experience with vessel-based survey delivery, Ross Offshore provides reliable geodata of seabed and shallow sub-seabed conditions and practical insight that reduces offshore uncertainty, supports regulatory and environmental compliance, and helps minimise project risk, downtime and cost exposure.

Survey campaigns can be delivered as standalone scopes or integrated with ROV operations to support inspection, verification and targeted offshore investigations.

What sets Ross Offshore apart is our ability to combine seabed, environmental and ROV survey data with geotechnical interpretation, geoscience engineering and multidisciplined marine assurance and design advisory from across the Aqualis group. This enables us to deliver practical, decision-ready outputs that support engineering design, risk management, offshore installation and decommissioning planning.

    Seabed & Geophysical Surveys

Ross Offshore delivers early-stage site screening, seabed mapping, site investigations and route corridor surveys that provide the intelligence needed to understand ground conditions, identify constraints and geohazards, and support infrastructure routing, foundation design, subsea engineering and decommissioning planning. Our capabilities include AUV, ROV and UHRS surveys, together with UXO detection, investigation and clearance support.

    Geotechnical Investigations

Ross Offshore manages and delivers year-round geotechnical investigation programmes that provide the ground data required for foundation design, jack-up assessments, anchoring solutions, cable burial analysis and offshore infrastructure development. Our experience includes shallow and deep-water investigations, Cone Penetration Testing (CPT), coring, vibrocore operations, grab sampling, laboratory testing and baseline sediment surveys.

    Environmental Surveys

Ross Offshore provides baseline environmental surveys that support permitting, environmental impact assessments and regulatory submissions. Our environmental surveys provide the environmental data needed to identify sensitivities, assess project impacts and meet regulatory requirements, reducing uncertainty and supporting responsible offshore energy transport and installation (T&I), operations and decommissioning across energy and marine infrastructure projects.

    ROV Surveys & Inspection

ROV-based surveys and inspection campaigns support subsea asset verification, condition assessments, targeted investigations and offshore construction activities. These services can be integrated into wider survey programmes to improve efficiency and reduce offshore campaign complexity. Using AUV, ROV and 2D UHRS tooling, we support pipeline, cable, wreck and seabed investigations across a range of offshore environments.

    Survey Management & Offshore Supervision

Ross Offshore acts as a single point of contact throughout the survey lifecycle, from planning and mobilisation to offshore execution and reporting. Through offshore supervision, contractor coordination, HSEQ oversight, QA/QC management, and regulatory interfacing, we help clients reduce complexity, maintain operational control, and deliver survey programmes safely and efficiently.

    Vessel & Survey Spread Selection

Ross Offshore selects and manages fit-for-purpose vessels, survey spreads and experts based on water depth, soil conditions and operational complexity. Drawing on 30 years of North Sea operational heritage and our asset-light flexibility, we keep people and operations safe, reduce downtime, reduce cost exposure and keep offshore delivery predictable.
