Aqualis - the global group of specialist companies serving the energy and ocean industries, today relaunches the Ross Offshore brand and equips it to spearhead the group’s marine and subsea contracting business.
Ross Offshore joined the group in 2024, and its marine and subsea team has since delivered under the group’s wells and subsurface consultancy, AGR. From today on Ross Offshore works under its own name again, as an asset-light marine and subsea contractor with vessels under management mandates from their owners, delivering whole offshore campaigns from concept to decommissioning.
“In Norway, Ross Offshore is a name clients have worked with for almost thirty years. We are bringing it back for the part of the business where it has always meant most, marine and subsea operations, with the track record and the vessel mandates that come with it. What has changed is the reach. With the marine, technical and engineering capabilities of the Aqualis group behind us, we are taking that model to the UK and to new markets, for clients who want one partner answerable for the whole campaign at sea,” says Jan Schoolmeesters, CEO of Ross Offshore.
Ross Offshore delivers an end-to-end offering in vessel management, rig moves and mooring, survey and seabed intelligence, subsea construction support, IRM and ROV, wellhead severance, vessel-based P&A and decommissioning.
Its track record includes 250+ managed marine and subsea projects, 1,000+ vessel fixtures, 300+ managed rig moves. The company has currently three vessels under management mandates and has conducted ten vessel-based wellhead severance operations on the Norwegian continental shelf since 2022.
Behind Ross Offshore sits the wider expertise of the Aqualis group, including engineering and design, renewable energy consulting, wells and subsurface expertise, and marine consultancy services. These capabilities can be integrated into offshore campaigns as required, giving clients access to multidisciplinary support through a single delivery partner.
“Offshore campaigns typically fail at the interfaces: between the vessel, the spread, the engineering and the client. Ross Offshore takes those interfaces on as one contractor. We own no vessels, so clients pay for the campaign and not for idle capacity; we bring vessels under mandate from owners who are partners in the job, and the specialists, engineering and project management to run it. That is the proven model, and it is why clients trust Ross Offshore to take on a whole campaign,” adds Schoolmeesters.
Ross Offshore is part of Oslo-listed energy and marine consultancy group Aqualis ASA.
